About this songbird...
Why Songbird Postpartum? Well, I began my career in childcare as a bit of a fluke while I was a young actor in New York pursuing musical theater and singing my little heart out. It's a bit of a trope that if you're an actor in you either wait tables, or you nanny...... and I was terrible at waiting tables! So, this songbird decided to give the nanny thing a try. And I soon discovered that I loved working with children, especially newborns, and their families. Little did I know at the time that this love would blossom into a career of 8+ years.
It was in 2021, while nannying, that I overlapped with a Postpartum Doula. At the time I had no idea that such a thing even existed and was immediately drawn to this idea of supporting families as they navigated the postpartum period. A kind of support I knew was so often overlooked in our society. This was an issue made even more personal to me after one of my dearest friends experienced a very traumatic birth and postpartum period. Seeing her struggle, and feeling helpless in knowing the right way to support her, lit a fire in me to dedicate my career to supporting women and their partners in navigating this period and providing them with the support and care that they deserve. If you are looking for someone who will be a supportive and encouraging presence, who will never judge, and have total belief that you are going to kill it as parents, I am the doula for you.

My mission as a postpartum doula is to provide compassionate and inclusive support to families during the postpartum period. I am committed to ongoing diversity training to ensure that I am equipped to serve families from all backgrounds and identities. I welcome and support families in the LGBT community, and strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all. My goal is to empower families to thrive during this transformative time, and to provide the support they need to build a strong foundation for their growing family.

When I'm not caring for families, or continuing my education, you can find me embroidering, baking delicious treats, or snuggling with my two cats Clover and Willow.
I am currently serving families in Austin and the surrounding areas. To learn more about the role a postpartum doula can play in your postpartum journey click here.
